What a weekend! Grandparents Wetzel visited to babysit for a night and got their money’s worth.
- Morgan rolled over from front to back unaided, twice in a row proving it not a fluke.
- She began reaching for toys for the first time this weekend.
- She’s become very talkative within the past week, continuously making noise at times.

This is decent audio of Morgan laughing with Grandma Wetzel egging her on. Sorry about the video quality, it was shot in a dark room so I decided that lightening it up was worth the tradeoff in quality.

As claimed, she sucks her thumb and talks a lot now.
(And she loves laying on her changing mat)

Daycare is trying to teach Morgan to hold her own bottle, and took these photos for us.
Molly and Jim took Morgan to her first Oktoberfest celebration in Shirlington.
As Fall sets in, Molly likes to bundle Morgan somewhat excessively for the chilly 65F mornings.
Morgan in her car seat shows how much she’s grown since this.

Morgan and I take 7 elevator rides on the way to daycare each morning (and 7 on the way home). If we commute 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year, that is 3,500 elevator rides a year. I’m pretty sure I didn’t take 3,500 elevator rides in my first year.

Last weekend Morgan was working on holding on to a rattle and then tried to bring it to her mouth for the first time. It was a frustrating exercise for her. She knows how to get her hand to her mouth, but getting a toy in her hand in her mouth is an entirely different thing. Plus, she whacked herself in the head with the rattle.
Also, her primary caregiver has been working with her on holding her own bottle while at daycare. Don’t get me wrong, she can’t hold her bottle and feed herself the whole thing, but she definitely holds both hands on the bottle while she is eating. I saw it when I visited at lunch and her caregiver took a couple of pictures and we have the prints to prove it. I’ll see if I can’t figure out a reasonable way to get them online or try to take a couple of pictures of it at home. It is too cute!
