Update on progress walking and daycare transition

Morgan was home with me all day today.  Small Savers was closed to the kids; I think the teachers were renewing CPR certification and that type of thing.  She loves walking.  That is pretty much what we did all day in the house, walking around while holding on to one of my fingers.  She has absolutely no interest in holding both hands.  In fact she wants her other hand free to carry things around.  She particularly likes to try to carry her Skip-Hop (her mini-diaper changing pad thing), which is a little big for her.  She was also carrying around snacks for a good part of the day, in her Snack Trap.  At one point she was carrying her Snack Trap with one hand and walking while holding onto my finger with the other hand.  She came to a stop (standing), let go of my hand, dug some Goldfish out of her Snack Trap, put them in her mouth, looked back for my hand, took it and started walking again.  Her control is just getting better and better.

Her daycare transition has been going really really well.  This was the first week we were dropping her off and picking her up in the Toddler One’s room.  Monday she fussed as we were leaving, but her teacher said it was only for 3 seconds.  Wednesday she didn’t fuss at all, just kind of watched us walk out the door and then went to eating.  Thursday she fussed a bit more.  She seems to fuss more if Jim is holding her and puts her down than if I am.  Or maybe I’m imagining it.  We do only have 4 observations.

In other good news, she really enjoyed Water Day on Thursday.  I was pleased to hear this, as she hasn’t really showed much love for it in the past and they do it every week during the summer.  It seems like a fun change of pace, splashing around in the buckets and such.
