Transition Week
Morgan has been transitioning to the Toddler Two’s room this week. Monday went pretty well. She was okay in the morning. Not perfect, in that she didn’t want to interact with the other kids, but she was okay playing by herself. She was less happy in the afternoon, but felt better after a big hug with Elmo during circle time.
On Tuesday, there was a bit of a tactical error. Her favorite teacher, Miss Parwin, took her over to the Two’s room in both the morning and the afternoon. Morgan was not at all happy when Parwin left. And when the Two’s and One’s rooms were playing together in the larger ‘free play’ area, she really stuck with her friends from the One’s room. I think it was a rough day for her.
Today things really seemed to go better. They had a ‘floater,’ one of the employees who moves from room to room to help out, take her over to the Two’s room. She did reasonably well in the morning and was quite happy to go over there in the afternoon.
Tomorrow she goes over to the Two’s room at 9:30 and stays all day long. She naps there and we pick her up there.
So big so fast.
